What is dressy casual?  No one knows for sure because ‘officially’ there is no such term!

The above photo was taken at a summer party where the hostess expected us to dress dressy casual.  Because we knew that the hostess (she is holding her granddaughter) would be serving a formal dinner complete with her best china, crystal and linen and that she would be elegantly, but casually, attired, we followed suit.

The men wore dress slacks with either knit shirts or cotton button down shirts.  Some of them wore sport coats.
